Hope summer is going good for everyone, maybe a lot of work, maybe some well deserved holidays. The board is still working along to improve the working of the association and we are now in the process of planning the next conference in Orlando. The different tracks are have been assigned to the different chairs and we are now looking what the content will be. I want to reach out to the membership to come with suggestions on topics and speakers and in if you really are interested in making it a great conference to assist with the planning. Because we are in the south of the USA my main call goes out to the members there. A few of the subjects we are already looking at is the trafficking in wild animals, new animal welfare rules and a focus on South America.
The board has also been working on promoting the association at various trade fairs like Air Cargo Europe in Munich. We had a small presentation to a variety of people ranging from Airports, forwarders and airlines. We are continuing to expand our membership but keeping in mind the standards that we as an association keep high. In the autumn ATA will also be present at the annual AALAS conference in Houston and we are also going to Air Cargo Americas in Miami. If you are at any of these conferences feel free to come and say hello and have a chat and a drink at out booths.
The transition we had in the beginning of the year is going very good. Robin is now fully up to speed and the collaboration is working well. If any of you have any issues or suggestion please feel free to contact Robin and let her know. Lastly a big congratulations from me to her for doing a good job talking some of the day to day burden of the shoulders of the board members.
Well this is it for now and until the next time.
