It's time again for my fall letter and letting you know what we at the Board have been doing over the last months for the association. October and November have been quite busy months for the Board as we had our meeting here in Bruges. We were fortunate to have been invited here by our President-Elect Filip who graciously offered us the space and time at his facility to have our meeting.
At the top of our agenda were the discussions about the previous conference in Hong Kong - 2017 and the feedback we got from our members and taking this input forward to the conference next year in Orlando - 2018. This was our second most important subject as we are starting to plan again and looking for speakers that will be of interest to the attendees. I can say that we have already a few confirmed speakers and these will be added this week or the next week to the website, so you can follow who will be coming and speaking on which subjects. Of course, you can also let us know if there are people of interest to you who we could invite.
As far as the association is concerned we are slowly growing in membership and we have been expanding our collaboration with other associations for the benefit of the membership. Once we have more concrete plans we will of course inform all of you.
Regarding this, Kelly Wheeler, Alberto Torres-Rodriguez and I also represented ATA at Air & Sea Cargo Americas to give more exposure to the association and to interact with different airlines, airports and forwarders. This was the third conference that we attended and although the association is well received we do need to come out and promote it more to the wider community.
While in Florida, I headed to Orlando to visit the Sheraton Lake Buena Vista to discuss the agenda and events with hotel staff. Meeting details are being posted on the Meeting page.
This is all for now and if I do not have the time to write a new letter, I wish everyone Happy Holidays!
